Fay Park is the only standing garden designed by Thomas Church in San Francisco. The garden was recently transferred from private ownership into the care of San Francisco’s Recreation and Parks Department. As a public park it has been necessary to renovate paths, decks and plantings and to upgrade circulation for universal access.
Cliff Lowe Associates provided design development drawings, site base drawings and construction documents for hardscape layout and grading. Working with the Friends of Fay Park, we developed planting and irrigation plans, technical specifications and cost estimates. RHAA of San Francisco supplied project administration, historic research and coordination of community meetings.
