Cliff Lowe Associates is currently working on several projects in Mission Bay, the nation’s largest new urban infill development.
Mission Place is a mixed-use development with approximately 100,000 square feet of retail space and 600 housing units. A landscaped plaza between the buildings at street level sets a crisp, open foreground for the project’s lush interiors. Forty feet above the plaza, the podium level is defined by a great lawn, a 75-foot lap pool on the west side and a reflecting fountain and spa on the east. Translating the surrounding landscape into planter forms, outdoor rooms and plant material, the design creates a sophisticated urban oasis.
