| Auburn Boulevard, and the City of Citrus Heights occupy an increasingly pivotal position in the expanding Sacramento Metropolitan Region. New spatial, visual, and infrastructure development in this area will enhance its identity, clarify and expand its social and economic role in the region. CLA, in collaboration with RaceStudio and the City of Citrus Heights, prepared a Specific Plan Report that will guide future development of this 1.5-mile segment of Auburn Boulevard. The design evolved through community meetings and workshops, and integrated dialogue with team members and City Representatives. CLA assessed existing conditions along Auburn Boulevard, identified opportunity areas and developed land use plans and design alternatives. Results of the extensive analysis and design work have been summarized in a comprehensive report, approved by the City Council and published by the City of Citrus Heights. In 2005 the design received an Honor Award from the Sacramento Valley section of the American Planning Association. |
